Janet and Symon had been blessed with a baby girl. After their girl had been born they were told she had severe clubfoot. “God, what is this now?” Janet wondered and Symon was equally shocked by the news. However, they both encouraged each other and believed God was going to do something. So they gave their child the name ‘Faith’.

Faith was admitted to a local hospital and without wasting time, doctors referred her to CURE International Hospital that runs a successful national clubfoot program. Joyce Meyer Ministries partners with CURE each month to fund five clubfoot surgeries.

In Malawi, if a child is born with clubfoot, they are considered cursed and the family has to deal with the social issues that go with that. One of the great aspects about CURE is that they counsel the families and address psychological and spiritual issues. When Janet arrived at CURE Hospital, she was first welcomed by the spiritual counseling team who made her feel loved and not rejected and was told that bearing a child with severe clubfoot was not a curse or punishment from God. After undergoing the procedure, Faith is expected to walk properly like any other normal child. Janet meets with the clubfoot counselor every time she visits the clubfoot clinic. Spiritually, she is growing in the Lord. She is very thankful to the partners of Joyce Meyer Ministries for their generosity and to the Lord for leading her to CURE.

Lending a Helping Hand in Haiti

Joyce Meyer Ministries has been partnering with Pat Bradley, founder of International Crisis Aid (ICA), to provide support to people in around the world. After the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti in January, ICA has been working diligently to provide food, water and shelter to the people of Haiti.

ICA is working closely with the United States Marine Corp who is providing tremendous support in the form of heavy equipment, food, water and so much more. They have been able to bulldoze out rubble in a local orphanage created by the earthquake so that shelters could be built for children to stay and have a safe place to sleep. In one day alone, ICA was also able to distribute enough food to feed 24,000 people for the entire day.

One day, one person, one situation at a time, God is using people willing to serve to help bring hope to the people of Haiti. No one person can bring complete restoration, but Marines working with volunteers, just one more example of how working together we are all better!.

Making a Difference in Cambodia

Rattana Gnek is a 13 year old girl who lives in the garbage slums of Phnom Penn, Cambodia. Rattana’s entire family works in the garbage dumps sorting through the waste in order to find items to sell. Their earnings from this job sustain the family. Rattana and her siblings do not attend a regular school and the family often goes without eating.

Rattana heard that there was a group of teachers that had come to the garbage dump to gather students in that area to study on a bus and give them a meal. She was ecstatic and immediately sought to join the program. She now participates daily in the Joyce Meyer Ministries Feeding School. This program provides Rattana with daily nutrition, educational lessons, fun activities and stories based on biblical principles. She is so happy now. “God saved my life and made it to be bright,” Rattana says. “I know the One who saves and helps people now!”

The Needs Are Still Great in Haiti

It was just about four weeks ago that the 7.0 earthquake crushed the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere...Haiti. Leaving buildings collapsed and homes destroyed, it has been agonizing every day to look into the faces of these people who had next to nothing to begin with and then lost what little they had. They are clinging to hope from day to day.

We are still feeding them every day, praying for them, encouraging them, and hugging them. We are praying that God will give us a plan to help them put their lives back together. All these wounded people need a home and job. This will take a miracle. They need homes and job training. They need the tools in their hands to start a new life. This must happen for them soon. Rainy season will be coming, and if we don't get major help, many more will die. Thank you for continuing to stand in the trenches with us. Pastime Brings Aid to Haiti

Much needed relief supplies were sent to the Red Cross in Haiti from Joyce Meyer Ministries to help the victims of the earthquake. These supplies were delivered by Dennis Hammond, a partner with Joyce Meyer Ministries, who used his personal boat, the Pastime, to transport the items. Four pallets of medical supplies, soap, hygiene products and other supplies were brought in along with clothing and bottled water provided by the St. Louis Dream Center.

So many people are helping those who are suffering in Haiti in a variety of ways. This is a great example of the love of God in action. Thanks to all the people like Dennis who show God’s love by doing what they are able to do. God bless you!

Helping Haiti

Love A Child Update

The team of doctors and medical supplies sent by Joyce Meyer Ministries to Love A Child are already making a profound difference in the lives of injured Haitians. In the above picture, medical staff at Love A Child’s Jesus Healing Center took an x-ray of a patient’s arm to determine if any additional treatment was necessary. The doctors and staff are very impressed with the new equipment and said, “These x-rays are fantastic; you couldn’t get any better from U.S. radiology.” Over 35 x-rays have already been performed with the newly donated x-ray equipment.

Haiti Update: Upon Their Arrival

Our team of doctors immediately started treating patients as soon as they arrived to their destinations. Three orthopedic surgeons stayed in the Dominican Republic to perform much needed orthopedic procedures on injured earthquake victims transported from Haiti. The emergency room physician left the Dominican Republic and went to the Love A Child facilities in Haiti, bringing along medical supplies and the desperately needed portable x-ray machine.

Upon his arrival at Love A Child, he immediatley started to attend to the needs of the wounded. Helping everyone that was in need and assessing those who would need specialized orthopedic procedures. Those he prepared for transportation and placed in a truck to drive them to the Dominican Republic for the 3 ortohopedic surgeons we had staffed there to treat them. Pick-up trucks were prepared as best they could with blankets for cushions and tarps to protect the injured from the bright sun during the trip. It's not the most conventional way to transport injured victims, but in these conditions it certainly is effective. God keeps providing miracles and creative ways to take care of His people. Helping the People of Haiti

From the moment we first heard of the tremendous devastation caused by the 7.0 earthquake in Haiti on January 12, we immediately starting making plans to assist in any way we could. We’ve been in constant contact with our friends and partners, Bobby and Sherry Burnette, founders of Love A Child in Haiti. Joyce Meyer Ministries has been partnering with Love A Child by providing support for their feeding programs as well as support for a medical clinic in Fond Parisien, the Jesus Healing Center. This clinic has been a haven to the injured, open 24/7 since the earthquake hit and is in great need of medical supplies and surgeons.

We’ve been able to send three orthopedic surgeons, one emergency room physician and 904 pounds of medical supplies, including a desperately needed portable x-ray machine, to the Dominican Republic. The three orthopedic surgeons have already begun performing surgeries at a hospital in the Dominican Republic, near the Haiti border. Medical supplies and the portable x-ray machine have been sent to the Jesus Healing Center and the emergency room physician is treating patients there and referring those who need surgery to the hospital in the Dominican Republic. Justice for the Widow

We have been working for over 3 years in some pretty remote villages in Egypt. Today I was blessed to visit the success side of those years of investment. Three years ago, during my first visit, I was introduced to an elderly widow. She basically had very little. She slept on the floor and in the same room as her cow and chickens. She had no running water or electricity. Today, it’s a different story. She now lives in a proper home with the things she needs. Thank God for His care and thank you partners for helping to make this possible!
