The Importance of Medical Missions

For most of us, it’s an ordinary thing to go to the doctor when we’re sick or need treatment. It’s something we can easily take for granted.

But for approximately 2 billion people around the world (according to the World Health Organization), access to lifesaving medicines isn’t even an option. Some families literally save their money for years just to be able to see a doctor or specialist.

Maybe the greatest tragedy is that millions needlessly suffer and even die from illnesses that can be so easily avoided.

Joyce Meyer Ministries’ involvement in medical missions began in 2005, after Joyce herself endured a painful personal medical issue. For her, that experience was an eye-opener. She thought, What would it be like to permanently live with this kind of pain…with no hope of ever getting well? Thus began our medical and dental outreaches around the world.

Today, we fully fund a hospital in India and support a dental clinic in Kosovo. We also support medical clinics in Ethiopia, Haiti, Cambodia and South Africa. In addition, we have reached tens of thousands of lives through our medical and dental outreaches throughout India, Kenya, Madagascar, Peru, and so many other nations.

Our goal is simple: We want to reach out with God’s love and help as many people as we can. Thank you for supporting Hand of Hope and bringing these life-saving and life-changing services to those in need around the world.

Hand of Hope is the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Our goal is simply to help as many hurting people as we possibly can, to alleviate human suffering and to help Christians grow in their faith.
