Providing Water to the Datoog in Tanzania

David L. Meyer – CEO Hand of Hope

Hand of Hope sponsored the digging of 2 fresh water wells here in Tanzania through World Serve International. We were told that 5 of every 10 children die in this region before the age of five, mostly from waterborne diseases. The area where Shelly and I are in is extremely remote, a very unreached area near Lake Eyasi. This lake is unfortunately a salt lake so it is of no use. This area is one of the driest in all of Tanzania.

These freshwater wells have literally changed people’s lives forever. Since the water has become available, a medical clinic and school have also been added (through the support of another organization). So the future for this village is bright. We are now looking to help other villages.

Hand of Hope is the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Our goal is simply to help as many hurting people as we possibly can, to alleviate human suffering and to help Christians grow in their faith.
