St. Louis Dream Center: Back to School Blast

Jeff Allensworth - St. Louis Dream Center Senior Pastor

We couldn’t be more pleased with the results of the Back to School Blast at the St. Louis Dream Center. Over 200 volunteers helped us launch our Adopt a Block Blitz. The day was full of fun and excitement for local area children. Festivities included carnival games, balloon animals, fire juggling, and so much more. There was also cotton candy, snow cones, kettle korn, free hot dogs and sodas for everyone. Special guest rappers, Kevin Getter and Tony Makanju entertained the crowd of approximately 1,500 people with their music.

Children received free dental care including fillings and extractions. Ashland Elementary School registered several children for the upcoming school year. Backpacks loaded with school supplies will be given to the teachers and administrators of local public schools to give to students who don't have one on the first day of school. One of the highlights of the day was the grand opening of our new food pantry. We were able to provide 5,113 meals to people in the area who were in need.

Thank you partners for helping us make this incredible day possible. For more information about the St. Louis Dream Center visit our web site.
