Haiti Medical Missions Update

Ashley Wilkins - Hand of Hope Medical Missions Coordinator

Two weeks ago Charle was riding his bicycle around his remote village in Haiti when he fell and scraped his ankle. Little did Charle know that a small scrape like that could soon threaten his life. Charle walked past our medical clinic today when the dirty bandage on his ankle caught my eye. I brought him inside and we found a very serious, infected wound that went almost to the bone. Had we not treated Charle today, he could have lost his leg or even his life due to the severity of the infection. We cleansed his wound and started him on antibiotics that will keep him healthy.

I am so thankful that our medical team is currently here in Haiti helping many people like Charle. We have been able to administer treatment to thousands of patients in rural villages and share the love of Christ with every single one!

I would like to say thank you from the field to all of our wonderful partners who have helped us bring treatment to the Haitian people.

Project Hope Dedication, Los Angeles

Joyce Meyer

Born from the need to do something significant in the U.S. and championed by a personal realization that tomorrow isn't soon enough, we had the privilege of dedicating Project Hope, a beautiful home for victims of human trafficking. In cooperation with the LA Dream Center, this program in the heart of Los Angeles will help restore, equip, and empower these women for their future.

I had the honor of spending some time with them and sharing my personal story. Now we look forward in anticipation of hearing their own stories of redemption -- Beauty from ashes.

We will continue to keep you informed of everything we are doing for victims of human trafficking at joycemeyer.org

Australia Flood Clean-Up

Beth Waters (pictured above), one of the many volunteers from Joyce Meyer Ministries Australia, is overcome with emotion while helping with the clean-up efforts in Fairfield.

Tom McKaskill - Director - Joyce Meyer Ministries Australia

Some regions in Australia are still reeling from flood waters, but there are areas where flood waters are receding and we are assisting with the massive clean-up efforts. There is so much appreciation for the little things we are able to supply such as good quality rubber gloves, cleaners and disinfectants - it has been beyond expectations.

Loaves and Fishes Streetmeet Care Service, who we partner with in Australia, has supplied literally tons of foodstuffs, cleaning products, and resources such as their street vans and trailers which we have been utilizing. They have been extremely helpful in providing disaster relief as well as Citipointe church who has been crucial in supporting our relief efforts.

With the support provided by Joyce Meyer Ministries staff and partners, I have no doubt we have made a difference in the lives of people who have been watching their lives disappear beneath the muddy waters of local river systems and had given up hope. We been able to step up to the mark, exhibit Gods agape love, and extend a Hand of Hope

Australia Flooding: Seeing the Impact Firsthand

Tom McKaskill - Director - Joyce Meyer Ministries Australia

We’ve had the opportunity to travel about Brisbane and see the vast impact of the flooding firsthand. Flood waters have peaked in the Brisbane area, but people are still unable to return to their homes and assess the damage or start any cleanup efforts as most homes in the area are still only identifiable by their roof tops.

Joyce Meyer Ministries is providing on-going relief efforts in conjunction with Citipointe Church and Loaves and Fishes Streetmeet Care Service to provide support to those affected by this disaster. Please continue to pray for those affected by this overwhelming situation.

Flood Relief in Australia

Tom McKaskill - Director - Joyce Meyer Ministries Australia

Southeast Queensland has been subjected to the worst flooding seen in more than 30 years from drenching rains that have been falling off and on since November. In addition, a recent major rainstorm created what has been termed an “Inland Tsunami” and is the cause for the most devastating act of nature ever experienced in this Australian state. Flood waters are expected to crest in Brisbane on Thursday, January 13. Tens of thousands of homes are under water and more than 100,000 homes are without power.

Joyce Meyer Ministries’ Australia office located in Brisbane, along with several other ministries and churches, is working to help set up Carepoints in some of the worst affected areas. These Carepoints are designed to minister hope through the distribution of food, clothing, and blankets to those that have been impacted by this devastating disaster. Please pray for the families whose lives have been turned upside down by this unprecedented flooding.

Lives Saved in Israel

Shelly Meyer – Hand of Hope International Relations Officer

Be’ad Chaim is an organization that provides protection for both mothers and children in Israel and one that Hand of Hope is pleased to support. Be’ad Chaim provides alternatives to abortion by helping mothers realize God’s promise in Deuteronomy 30:19 “…I have set before you life and death, blessings and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your children may live.”

Through their Operation Moses program every mother who considered an abortion but kept the baby receives all they need for the first year. This includes a baby bed, changing table, stroller, and bath as well as monthly diapers, formula and regular visits. Through the work of Be’ad Chaim and your support, the children shown above are just a few examples of the many children who are alive and treasured.

Christmas Devastation in South Africa

Brad Senekal – Outreach Coordinator
Joyce Meyer Ministries South Africa Office

In the early hours on the day after Christmas, 2010, a terrible fire ravaged the township of Masiphumelele. What should have been a time of joyous celebration became a nightmare as 700 people, already very poor, lost everything as 168 shacks were destroyed. The poor became victims of their own poverty as overcrowding and a battle for land pushed these makeshift shacks right on top of each other. One small mistake with a paraffin lamp and their meager belongings turned to rubble.

Thank God that we have been connected to the community of Masiphumelele through a children’s club where we feed 200 children daily. We were able to respond by distributing 700 hygiene packs, and an encouraging book of Joyce’s to each of the victims in their native language, Xhosa. We believe that God is restoring these families, from ashes to beauty, and we are so grateful to our partners who make it possible to be an ongoing part of this healing process.
