China Earthquake Update: Relief to the 'Ends of the Earth'

Shelly Meyer – Hand of Hope International Relations Officer

Hand of Hope was able to team up with our ministry partners in China to bring relief to victims of the earthquake that hit the Qinghai province of China in April, 2010. We were able to provide emergency relief packages to 100 families. The packages contain 2 sub-zero sleeping bags, an emergency aid kit, medicine, noodles, a solar light with a charging kit, cooking oil, and a cooking pan.

Most of the people who live in the remote village where the packages were distributed are Tibetan Buddhists, many of whom had never heard the name of Jesus. Our ministry partners were able to distribute a total of 600 packages and have been able to establish a small home group and a primary school in the village as well. Many children are learning about Jesus through the school and bringing that knowledge home to their families. Thanks to the partners of Joyce Meyer Ministries, relief and eternal life are coming to areas that many would consider the “ends of the earth”.

Hand of Hope is the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Our goal is simply to help as many hurting people as we possibly can, to alleviate human suffering and to help Christians grow in their faith.
