There is a Haitian Creole proverb that says..."Yon sèl dwèt pa manje kalalou." It means "You cannot eat okra with only one finger." To me it means, "You sure can't do it alone..." and we can't. Every day we realize we need one another.
Toward that end, we have a construction team made up of many people from a variety of different areas helping us build homes for some of the people of Haiti displaced during the earthquake that devastated this country earlier in the year. Everyone on this team has great individual talents and we are grateful they are coming together to bless the poor in Haiti! It is great to see so many hands and hearts working together for the Kingdom.
These homes are so very important to the people of Haiti because they offer long-term housing solutions in a time when humanitarian experts are discouraging the use of tents and tarps for housing as they are not able to withstand the extreme weather conditions in Haiti. We are also so thankful that Joyce Meyer Ministries - Hand of Hope has sponsored the first fifty houses in this project. These homes are being built for amputees who are currently living in Camp Hope at Love A Child.
Please continue to pray for us and the people of Haiti as we rebuild.
Hand of Hope is the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Our goal is simply to help as many hurting people as we possibly can, to alleviate human suffering and to help Christians grow in their faith.
