The week of January 7, 2008 may well turn out to be one of the most historic in the songwriting world. Compassionart, founded by Martin Smith of Delirious?, pulled together eleven of the best songwriters around. They escaped to a Bed & Breakfast in Northern Scotland to do nothing but write songs for a week. The theme was social justice and helping to alleviate human suffering. As a matter of fact, all the proceeds from the record will be donated to charity. The group included Michael W. Smith, Darlene Zschech, Steven Curtis-Chapman, Matt Redman, Tim Hughes, Israel Houghton and several others. Joyce was given the honor of sharing a message of encouragement with the group on Friday the 11th. The songs we heard that had been written so far were incredible!
