No Longer Hungry in Egypt

David L. Meyer – CEO Hand of Hope

The gift of food came at a time when there was no other food in the home. For Mary, her mother and brother, all of whom live with Mary’s grandparents the package of food was like rain on dry ground. Much like other poor Egyptian families, Mary’s family suffers from the lack of food and increasing food prices.

But the Village Food Outreach in Ezbhet El Nakhl puts faith inside of families in spite of the hard situations they face by distributing food for the families in need. Mary’s whole family was so happy because God heard their prayers and they were no longer hungry. They now know God is near, hears their prayers and have experienced His love is real way.

Datooga Village Transformed Forever

David L. Meyer – CEO Hand of Hope

Today was an incredible day. Over a year ago my wife Shelly and I made our first visit to the Lake Eyasi area of Tanzania, in Eastern Africa where the Datooga people live. After that initial visit, Joyce Meyer Ministries/Hand of Hope committed to a large undertaking. We committed to fund a primary school and drill 5 wells in the region. These well pumps are solar powered with large tanks. This village has never had education, and a 2+ hours journey each way for dirty disease-filled water was common. So today we dedicated the above projects all in the name of Jesus.

A Phantom Nation

David L. Meyer – CEO Hand of Hope

During our visit to the Central African Republic this week someone called it "A Phantom Nation". Some words that are used to describe a phantom are: apparition, daydream, delusion, figment, hallucination, illusion, and a mirage. Not sure what message this sends to you, but to me it says that the Central African Republic is a forgotten land. It was amazing how many people had no idea where this country even was when I told them I was going. Well it will no longer be a phantom nation to Joyce Meyer Ministries and Hand of Hope.

While here, we arranged for Joyce's Enjoying Everyday Life TV program to be broadcast and distributed hundreds of her books – all in French with plans to ship more. We visited multiple projects and identified opportunities to help in a humanitarian way. Please pray for these precious people who have known years of war, famine and strife. In the midst of it all we met many happy people loving God.

Giving Hope in Indonesia

Shelly Meyer–Hand of Hope International Relations Officer

This is Raphael. He is the youngest of 135 children living in a children's home in Indonesia who are fed everyday by Hand of Hope. Raphael is about 2 years old. It is hard to say exactly how old he is because he was abandoned as an infant and found in a box all alone. Thanks to the support of our partners and friends, Raphael is now growing up in a loving Christian home learning he will never again be alone because Jesus will always be with him and take care of him.

Disaster Relief Efforts in Madagascar

Brad Senekal – Outreach Director, Joyce Meyer Ministries South Africa

Hand of Hope is providing disaster relief to the people of Madagascar affected by the recent category four cyclone that swept through the region’s eastern shores on Tuesday, February 14. Through our already established feeding programs and water well projects there, we've been able to identify a number of severely affected households nearby the capital city, Antananarivo.

Over and above our ongoing feeding programs that care for 1,750 children, we distributed relief packs to households of 300 of the most vulnerable including food parcels, blankets, oil, candles, charcoal etc. And for a few of the worst affected, we will be rebuilding their destroyed houses. We have also committed to rebuild a school where the roof was ripped off entirely and the walls badly damaged.

It is the ongoing support by our partners for our ongoing programs in Madagascar, and around the world, that allow us to respond quickly and strategically when disaster strikes.
